As with any stoneware, these instructions should be followed: Allow the pottery to come to room temperature before placing in an oven/microwave or place the pottery in a cold oven and allow it to pre-heat along with the oven to the desired cooking temperature; Bring the pottery to room temperature before placing in a refrigerator or freezer.

It was handcrafted in the German province of Silesia, now a part of Poland. Inspired by the peacock feather, farmers produced the original designs using carved potatoes to create patterns in earth-tone colors. Today, artists of Ceramika Artystyczna continue this folk art. The artists use natural sea sponge to hand apply the lead-free paint to their creations. New colors as well as variations of the traditional blue, green, and sienna have been added to the artists color palette. The artists are extensively trained which is evident in their artwork. The artists offer a Traditional Line and a Signature Line of stoneware. Both lines are handmade and hand painted.
